Calling All Writers — 15k Readers Want Your Stories
Hello there, awesome person. I’m writing to let you know about exciting changes we are making at The Writing Cooperative, and to invite you to participate in the evolution of our publication.
The Writing Cooperative is a community of people who help each other write better. How we do this has changed over time. We used to be a crowd-editing platform. Now we are narrowing our focus and becoming a full fledged writing publication.
Think of us as a magazine about writing, editing, and publishing.
What this means for you —
We already have nearly 15k readers on Medium, and we are looking to grow both our audience and our contributors.
This is an open call for stories that would fit into our publication including stories about:
- Writing and the writing process.
- Writing fiction.
- Writing non-nonfiction.
- Short form or long form writing.
- Writing tools and resources.
- Editing.
- Growing an audience.
- Traditional Publishing.
- Self publishing.
- Medium.
You get the idea.
Maybe you wrote a story that is lost in the wilderness and needs a home on Medium. Maybe the story has been bouncing around in your head but you never wrote it because you didn’t have an audience. Well now you do.
Submission Rules —
We do have a few rules in place to maintain the integrity of our publication.
- Your writing must be an article or draft at Medium.com. We do not accept any other format.
- It must be an essay or an article concerning the writing process.
- It must include a header image. If it doesn’t, we will add one to it. You can find free images at freeimages.com unsplash.com & pexels.com.
- We require one of your tags to be Writing.
- We reserve the option to add a blurb at the bottom of your post that may look something like this:
At The Writing Cooperative, we’re looking to publish stories that help our community write better and write more often. Click here to learn how to submit your story and be exposed to our growing audience of nearly 15,000 readers.
Once your story is accepted, we ask that you do not remove it from our publication. This is just to make sure you are not using our publication as a spring board for your view count only to move the story somewhere else.
How to submit your story —
To submit a story to the Writing Cooperative, please send an email to editors@writingcooperative.com that includes a link to your story on Medium. Once received, our editors will review your submission and respond.
